Lots of interior views of these three historic and carefully restored cars.

Jump aboard the Berlin at the Penn Station in New York City with Jean. Her party met the Dearing in Washington, D.C., for a trip to AAPRCO's Mid Term Meeting in San Antonio, Texas. Her narrative, from a guest's perspective, makes for interesting and informative reading. Lots of photos!

The Mossbrae Daylight  by Stan Garner.
It's not often that private railcars play a part in natural forest preservation but the need to keep hikers off the UP's right-of-way gave a special train a purpose based in railroad safety. John Kirkwood put together the Mossbrae Daylight to take several of Dunsmuir's civic and business leaders past the the location of a proposed trail to Mossbrae Falls that will keep hikers and trains separated. Garner's account of the trip takes readers up the coast from Los Angeles to the ex-SP's Shasta Division for a trip through the pines in the mountains. Participating cars were the Pony Express, Tolani; Royal Gorge, Plaza Santa Fe and Yerba Buena.
